Selvaraghavan, Sonia file for divorce

Tamil director Selvaraghavan and his actress wife Sonia Agarwal have filed for divorce with mutual consent in a family court Chennai on Wednesday.

After months of speculation in the media about their 'stormy' relationship, both have now decided to end their 32-month-old marriage. The two tied the knot in December 2006.

Since the divorce is sought by both parties, the process is expected to be smooth and brief.

According to media reports, their relationship hit rock bottom after Selvaraghavan started going around with Andrea Jermiah who is playing a lead role in his yet to be released Aayirathil Oruvan.

It was even reported in a section of media that Sonia had once visited her husband on the sets of his movie and slapped Andrea for trying to take away her husband.

It was Selvaraghavan who introduced Sonia to films with Kadhal Konden and later repeated her in two other movies.

Apparently superstar Rajinikanth tried to mediate to save their marriage, but couldn't succeed. Selvaraghavan's younger brother Dhanush is married to Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya.

Life of Kavya sets to be film

M A Nishad is coming up with a new Malayalam movie which has ben titled as Thirasheelayil Ningalude Ishtathaarangal after his earlier venture Vairam. Famous mimcry artiste and actor Tini Tom has taken on the job of a script writer for this movie.

The movie will have a big array of star cast with most of the prominent stars in Malayalm essaying key roles in the movie. The screenplay and dialogues are by Cherian Kalpakavady.

The movie has already achieved much hype due to the hot news doing the rounds that the movie is to be based on the troubled marriage of Kavya Madhavan. As per the news the movie will throw light on Kavya's marriage with Nishal Chandra and the problems she had to encounter. Jayasurya is said to be essaying the lead role in the movie and the heroine is yet to be finalized.

Sneha denies her bikini appearance!

Sneha has denied her bikini appearance strongly and has said that she would never wear a bikini in films. Some of recent reports have suggested that her character in Soundarya Rajini's Goa has lots of gray shades and that she has donned a bikini in a song sequence.

After seing those reports, she strongly denied and said that there is no need for wearing a bikini for a negative role. Sneha clarified, "It is completely the desk work of media and I will never accept such scenes in future too...”


Sneha said that she is now choosy in selecting her roles to enhance the quality of her roles.

Prithviraj hikes his salary!

As per Malluwood grapevine after the super success of Puthiya Mugham, Prithviraj has hiked his salary from Rs 25 to 40 lakhs!

The film is a super hit and has taken a share of over Rs 2 crore from releasing stations in 17 days, with Ernakulam Shenoys netting Rs 21 the highest in Kerala. It is Pritviraj's biggest hit and the film that became profitable from Kerala theatricals in record 17 days.

Meanwhile Puthiya Mugham, has given Prithvi a new action hero image, and is now considered by the trade as the inheritor to M & M's throne which they were fiercely guarding for the last 20 years.

The first preference for theatres in Kerala, this Ramzan is Prithvi's Robin Hood due on September 18. All these factors have made him hot, so it was natural that hiked his salary.
