Mohanlal narrowly escaped from bike accident during the shooting of upcoming malayalam movie Casanova. The accident happened while shooing a bike race for the film, in a location at Hongkong. Accorind the sources, Mohanlal is safe & uninjured.

Nikitha attempts suicide over Darshan row?

Actress Nikitha was very unhappy about the alleged complaints that she is close to Kannada actor Darshan and his wife Vijaylakshmi has registered a complaint which had Niktha being held responsible for the troubles in her Marriage that had resulted for a 3 year ban for the actress Nikitha.

Hurt by the ongoing controversy and ban on her, Nikitha has attempted to commit suicide. The actress has reportedly swallowed sleeping pills at her residence in Mumbai.

According to Janasri Vahini, the unanimous decision taken by the Kannada Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) and the home-breaker tag made Nikitha to attempt for the suicide. It further claims that she has been admitted at a private hospital in Mumbai and she is on a recovery path.

It is said that the members of Kannada Film Producers Association, had visited Nikitha in the hospital and said that they want actors to be professional and concentrate only on their jobs.

Muni Ratna, President of the Kannada Film Producers Association had been reported to have said that the ban will a lesson for other artistes.

Actress Vichitra’s father murdered!

Actress Vichitra’s father Williams was murdered by a masked gang near Chennai. Williams and his wife Vasanthi were residing in a farm house belongs to Vichitra near Chennai.

In the wee hours of Tuesday (13th September), a couple of thieves entered the premises after breaking open the glass window. They then started searching the bureaus for jewels and cash. Williams, who got up after hearing the sound of glass being broken, shouted at them and they asked him to keep quiet. When they demanded jewels, Williams picked up courage and tried to attack them.

Unfortunately, he fell victim to repeated attack by sickles the culprits had brought along with them. Mary, who couldn’t stand the sight of her husband dying in front of her, was also attacked and she fell unconscious. The thieves then made good their way after looting 20 sovereigns of gold and Rs.10,000 in hard cash. Kasiyammal, the servant-maid who comes in the morning to do daily chores, found the couple lying on the floor and alerted the neighbours.

Malayalam music director johnson master passed away

Famous Malayalam Music Director Johnson Master Died today due to heart attack at Chennai. Jhonson was passed away when he was 58 year old. was a legend in Malayalam Film industry, his famous works includes Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Perumthachan, Amaram, Manichitrathazhu, Vadakkunokkiyantram, Njan Gandharvan etc

He started his career as an assistant to G. Devarajan in 1970s, and debuted as an independent composer in late seventies with Aaravam. He was a recurrent collaborator for directors Padmarajan, Bharathan, Sathyan Anthikkad, T. V. Chandran, Kamal, Lohithadas, Balachandra Menon and Mohan. He has composed music for more than 300 Malayalam films, the most by any composer except for Devarajan.

Assets worth Rs 30 cr found with Mohanlal, Mammootty

Income tax raids on residences and business establishments of Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal have revealed undisclosed assets worth about Rs 30 crore, a top I-T official said on Friday.

"Inquiries so far have indicated undisclosed assets worth approximately Rs 30 crore," ET Lukose, Director General of Income Tax (Investigation), Kochi said in a statement.

Cash and jewellery amounting to Rs 2.8 crore were seized during simultaneous raids at their residences and business premises across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka on July 22.

Bhama Injured while Shooting

Kannada actors Ganesh of 'Mungaru Male' fame and co-star Bhama have been injured on a set while shooting.

Sources said that while shooting for a fight scene, broken glass pieces entered Ganesh's eyes. It is not exactly known whether the pieces harmed the eyes or pierced just below the eyes.

Bhama also injured her nose in the freak accident, it is learnt. Both actors have been admitted to a hospital in Munnar.

The duo was shooting for the Kannada movie 'Shailu'.

Initial reports said that the injury was not a major one, but could affect the shooting schedule for the next few days.

The movie is produced by K Manju and directed by S Narayan.

Director Joshi's Daughter Aishwarya Died in Road Accident

Three software engineers from Kerala, including two women, were killed and two others injured when the car in which they were travelling hit a lorry on the East Coast Road, near Mahablipuram, early this morning.

Police sources said the dead included Aiswarya (24), daughter of well-known Malayalam film director Joshi.

Aiswarya from Ernakulam and her friends Arjun (24) of Thrissur, Radhika (24) of Kochi and Ashwin(24) and Yesudas (27), both natives of Chennai, were working for an popular IT firm in the Mahindra City at Chengalpet.

The victims, after a pleasure trip to Mahabalipuram, were returning home to Oorapakkam when the car hit a sand-laden lorry at Sulerikodu near Mahabalipuram.

In the impact, Aiswarya and Arjun died on the spot while Radhika died en route hospital.

Ashwin and Yesudas were admitted to the Chengalpet Government Hospital where they were being treated.

I may enter politics - Namitha

Namitha has hinted at entering into politics. ‘But this is not the right time. I may come into politics after some years,’ says the actress in her typical style.

On taking a break from acting, she says, ‘Because I don’t need to do stereotype roles. I have to show some difference in just about every movie of mine. There’s no time acting in films simply for the sake of making money.’

She adds: ‘I am want to act in Tamil films if there’s a good role for me. I love Tamilnadu and the people here.

Nayantara breaks down in tears!

Nayantara became too emotional and was into tears on the last day of the shooting of her upcoming Telugu movie Sri Rama Rajyam. The actress, who is getting married to actor-director Prabhu Deva, is bidding goodbye to acting after this film.

“After the completion of the last day shooting, Nayantara sat alone and cried, before cast and crew requested her to control her emotions. She was apparently disappointed to leave the team, as this would be her last film,” a source from the unit said.

“The actress gifted wrist watches for 150 members of the crew. Nayantara personally thanked and presented a gold ring to her make-up man for showing her beautifully all these years.”

Later, Balakrishna convinced Nayantara that she would act even after marriage with Prabhu Deva. The actress told him that she would like to settle down with marriage bliss. She personally thanked director Bapu and others like light boys and assistant directors before leaving the sets.

Sri Rama Rajyam is based on ancient Sanskrit epic Ramayana, which is directed by Bapu. Nayantara plays the role of Seetha, whereas Balakrishna will portray the role of Lord Rama in the film.

‘Avalude Ravukal' for a remake!

One of the bold movies in the history of Malayalam cinema, Avalude Ravukal (1978), directed by veteran I.V. Sasi with Seema in the lead role as teenage prostitute, will soon have a sequel.

According to sources, popular producer Liberty Basheer, will produce the sequel. The first question from all is that who will plays the role of Raji, played by Seema in the original?

The film crew approach Priyamani for it and waiting for her date. Vijayaraghavan will play Soman's role, while Mamukkoya will be seen in the role played by late Kuthiravattan Pappu. Rathinirvedam, has made nearly Rs. 2 crores profit in its opening week.The movie is produced by Menaka Suresh Kumar. Shwetha Menon-starrer film has been made with the budget of Rs. 1.55 crores and it has collected Rs. 3.15 at the Box Office. The producer is now hoping that the film would do even better earning in its long run.

Rathinirvedam has received average reviews from the film critics. But its provocative posters and trailers drove the movie buffs crazy towards the theatres. The movie had made a profit of Rs. 50 lakhs before its release and its run in cinema halls for a week has added Rs. 1.15 crore to it.
