South Indian singer Swarnalatha passed away at a private hospital in Chennai. She was 37.She has been singing with many famous music directors.
She was born to a harmonium player and singer K C Cherukutty and Kalyani. Swarnalatha knows to play harmonium and keyboard.
She won the National Film Award for best female playback singer for her rendition of the famous song Porale Ponnuthayi from the film Karuthamma. The song was composed by A R Rahman, with whom she has given lot of memorable songs.
