Director Vinayan’s ‘Yakshiyum Njanum’ which was to be release on July 30 has not made it. Vinayan, who is always critical of the Malayalam super stars, has again blamed a group of actors including the super stars for plotting to stall his film’ release.
The film which was all set to release was blocked by the Kerala Film Chamber saying it did not have the publicity clearance certificate from the chamber. Today Vinayan has requested the Chief Minister to step in and sort out the issue.
‘Yakshiyum Njanum’ is as understood by the title is a love story starring newcomers Gowtham, Shyam, Meghna Nair in the lead.
Mohammed Asif to star in Malayalam movie
Pakistani fast bowler Mohammed Asif will make his film debut with a Malayalam movie, directed by lyricist Kaithapram Damodaran Namboodiri.
The shooting of the film, titled Mazhavillinnattamvare (Till the tip of the rainbow), is scheduled to begin in September.
Besides Asif, Mazhavillinnattamvare will also mark the directorial debut of Kaithapram, who has penned hundreds of songs and won several national and State awards.
“Asif is now busy playing cricket in England. He will be free by September to begin shooting in Kannur,” Kaithapram told.
To play role of coach
“The film begins with Asif coming to a cricket camp in Kannur as a coach. When he travels from Lahore to Kerala, he has a personal mission too. The film will progress through his journey to his goal.”
Kaithapram has also penned the story, besides writing the the script and lyrics.
There will be five songs and a ghazal, the mixing of which will be done in London. The songs will be rendered by K.J. Yesudas, Udit Narayan, Shankar Mahadevan, K.S. Chitra, Deepankuran and Shreya Ghoshal.
The film is being produced by a Sharjah-based entrepreneur M. Mukundan, who hails from Kannur, under the banner of Valluvankadavu Recreations.

Kavya Madhavan files for divorce
Kavya Madhavan has finally filed her divorce papers at the Ernakulam Family Court in Kochi. She also filed another petition with the Ernakulam First Class Magistrate Court against her husband and in-laws under the Domestic Violence Act for causing mental stress.

Record satellite price for ‘Christian Brothers’

Anjali ventures into Mollywood
Anjali is all set to make her Mollywood debut. The actress would be seen opposite Jayasuriya in the upcoming Malayalam film Payyans.
The film is directed by Leo Thaddeus. The film talks about the relationship, love and bonding between a father and a son. Jayasuriya plays the son, Lal plays the father and as per reports Rohini plays the mother.
Saritha and Mukesh Divorce Appeal postponed
The divorce petition of Saritha and her husband Mukesh has been deferred to 21st September.
The actor and actress married in 1987, couple has two sons who are 20 and 17.
About 10 years back, the couple had difference of opinion and Saritha called for the separation leading to divorce, which is still pending on the bench of honorary court in Chennai.
The family court as per the formalities ordered a 6 month separation period and ordered the couple for counseling.

Archana Kavi first appearance in Tamil
Archana Jose Kavi has got her first Tamil offer and that was from Vasanthabalan who made some memorable films like ‘Veyil’ and ‘Angadi Theru’.

‘Aravaan’ is a period film happening in the 18th century Tamil Nadu. Popular singer Karthik is debuting as the music composer. Siddarth of 'Yaaradi Nee Mohini' fame would wield the camera. T Siva of Amma Creations would produce the film.

M G Radhakrishnan passed away
M G Radhakrishnan passed away at a private hospital this afternoon. He was 72.
Born on August 8, 1937 at Haripad, in Alappuzha, he was a disciple of Sree Vidyadhiraja Hridayanjali, an Indian ascetic, and has composed music for ascetic's lyrics, which was sung by his younger sister Dr K Omanakutty, a Carnatic vocalist.
Radhakrishnan had worked as a staff and became the senior music composer in Akashvani, Thiruvananthapuram. In 1962, he joined All India Radio.
He has also composed the poems of Kamala Das.
It was Radhakrishnan who introduced K S Chithra to the Malayalam film industry. M G Sreekumar is his younger brother.
