Priyamani in bikini

Priyamani in bikiniWell, that is the latest buzz in Kollywood – that National Awardee Priyamani will appear in a bikini for a hot song sequence in the Telugu film Drona!

Priyamani is not the only Kollywood actress to go the “dare to bare” route. Recently, Trisha too was rumoured to have donned a swimsuit for the Telugu film Sarvam but the details are still under wraps as the filmmakers want to shellshock the audience when the film hits the screens!

Ever since it was invented by the French designer Louis Reard, the bikini has always stirred controversies and excitement. No wonder he named it after Bikini Island, where the US frequently conducted its nuclear tests in 1946 – the effect of this scanty dress is nothing short of a nuclear bomb!

With the film world accepting the bikini as another benchmark for measuring an actress’s beauty, it became a “status builder” in Hollywood and Bollywood. Slowly, the trend entered Kollywood when Nayantara made everyone’s jaws drop with her perfectly toned bikini-clad figure. It was surprising when Kollywood, which has always been conservative compared to Bollywood or Tollywood, accepted it and every one was able to see the hard work the actress put in to sculpt a perfect cellulite-free shape that could be displayed in a bikini.
